3D-SHAPER® Clinical Cases

CASE EXAMPLE #1 – BONE HEALTH ASSESSMENT

In this case example, 3D-SHAPER reveals a low cortical surface density in a 56-year-old osteopenic woman (total hip BMD T-score = -1.1) who sustained a hip fracture.

CASE EXAMPLE #2 – TREATMENT RESPONSE MONITORING

In this case example, 3D-SHAPER reveals the increase in cortical surface density in a 75-year-old postmenopausal woman after two years of antiresorptive treatment.

3D-SHAPER®

3D-SHAPER® is a useful imaging solution to assist researchers and physicians in the assessment of bone health and in monitoring individual response to treatment, complementing existing techniques, with no addition of radiation to the patient.

Clinical Case #1

3D-SHAPER (3D-DXA) – Clinical Case #1 Prognosis

Overview

Clinical case review: young osteopenic postmenopausal woman considered with moderate risk of fracture, based on aBMD and FRAX® results who sustained a hip fracture.

The addition of 3D bone parameters – as assessed by 3D-SHAPER® – revealed her density distribution and highlighted very low trabecular bone density. That could have helped identify her fragility and increased risk of fracture and provide her appropriated treatment.
